Esopho somethin'

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy. I'm not sure if I'm just getting older, crazier, or what; but since when do I allow someone to perform a 26 letter unpronounceable procedure in my body? I guess since scripture tells us in 2 Cor. 1:3 to Praise ... God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. And since like Paul I have (2 Cor 12:8-10) "three times pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." The harder part of the verse to ehr, "swallow" is what comes in verse 7: "To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me." OOOo-kaay. Actually it is kind of funny to get all this out on "paper" because I hadn't realized all these verses were in the same book. Troubles, Sickness, Weakness + Christ = Comfort, Strength, Power. I am confident that God's hand is in all of this; that He is working in me submission, humility, patience, perseverance, compassion & above all faith. Exactly what I want. Still, having someone peer into your stomach is just plain weird. So, what do you think the doctor would say if I told him my son & I took second place in a Super Bowl Chili Cook-off Contest last night? I guess that's why he gets paid the big bucks. (And why I have to take Tums.)
